I have used about every brand available over the years, including "white" label drives. I can't say that one brand has been better or worse than any other brand.
Purchase simply by brand (if you care), price, and warranty.
As for mixing brands, it is a non-issue. The computer doesn't care which brand drive is attached. The drive either works or it doesn't. Brand has no bearing on operation of the computer and they don't interact with each other.
